FFKM SD Gummi Hintergrund

FFKM

Resistant to almost all chemicals
Operating temperatures up to 320°C

Perfluoro rubber

FKM and FFKM (perfluoroelastomers) are closely related materials, but FFKM has an even higher fluorine concentration and offers improved resistance to aggressive chemicals and covers a wider operating temperature range. FFKM is used in applications with the highest resistance requirements. Perfluoroelastomers (FFKM) represent a top class of elastomers due to their unique properties, which justifies the extremely high material price.

Chemical structure

The chemical structure of FFKM is characterized by completely fluorine-containing molecules.

Unlike other fluoroelastomers, such as FKM, FFKM does not contain hydrogen atoms in the polymer chain.

This complete fluorination gives FFKM unprecedented resistance to aggressive chemicals.

Their full fluorination gives them unprecedented resistance to chemicals and extreme temperatures, which is important in industries such as chemical, aerospace, semiconductor and oil and gas

is of inestimable value.

Material properties and resistance

  • Characterized by its excellent all-encompassing chemical media resistance

  • has excellent ozone, UV and weather resistance

  • extremely high gas density and oxygen impermeability

  • Recommended for contact with fuels, mineral oils and in polar and non-polar media

  • Use in the aerospace, automotive, chemical, food and oil industries

  • Temperature resistance: -40°C to 320°C

Perfluoro rubber is characterized by a unique combination of chemical resistance, temperature resistance and mechanical properties. flexibility Exceptional flexibility, at extremely high and low temperatures. Retains elasticity over a wide temperature range. Tear resistance Outstanding tear resistance, even under extreme loads. Low susceptibility to crack formation and crack propagation. Wear resistance High resistance to abrasion and wear. Long-lasting performance in demanding applications. density Low density results in a light material. Advantageous for applications that require low weight. Insulation properties Excellent electrical insulation properties against both heat and electrical current. Weather resistance High resistance to UV radiation and ozone. Long-term stability under various weather conditions. Chemical resistance Resistant to a wide range of harsh chemicals including acids and bases. Can be used in highly corrosive environments. Temperature resistance Excellent performance in extreme temperatures (-40°C to +320°C and above). Stable mechanical properties over the extended temperature range. Resistance to water vapor Good barrier properties against water vapor. Use in damp environments without affecting the material properties. FFKM may not be stable in contact with certain strong oxidizing chemicals and metal ions. A detailed check of the chemical environment is required in such cases.

Material hardness and coloring

FFKM is available in various hardness levels, typically ranging from 60 Shore A to 90 Shore A.

In terms of color, FFKM can be delivered in various versions, including black and brown.

Industries and applications

Pearl fluororubber is primarily used in industries that place extreme demands on their materials, particularly in terms of chemical resistance, temperature resistance, mechanical properties and durability. These outstanding features make FFKM a preferred material in high-performance applications.

Chemical industry Products such as seals, O-rings, valve seats that are resistant to aggressive chemicals. FFKM offers exceptional chemical resistance and prevents leaks in critical processes. Aerospace Seals for high temperature applications, O-rings for space components. The temperature resistance of FFKM makes it ideal for use in high temperature environments such as those found in aircraft engines or Space applications occur. Semiconductor industry Seals, O-rings for vacuum and high-temperature applications made from FFKM meet the semiconductor industry's requirements for ultra-pure materials. At the same time, FFKM offers the necessary resistance to aggressive process chemicals and high temperatures. Oil and gas industry Resistance to aggressive oils, lubricants, chemicals and extreme environmental conditions makes FFKM indispensable in the oil and gas industry.

Compared to other rubber materials, FFKM offers unparalleled durability

against aggressive chemicals, extreme temperatures and mechanical wear.

Its exceptional resistance to aggressive media and extreme environmental conditions

enables use in critical applications where maximum reliability is required and

the high costs are justifiable.
