Privacy policy

This English version of our privacy policy is provided for your convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the German version (www.sdgummi.de/datenschutz) shall prevail.

We take data protection seriously

Protecting your privacy when processing personal data is an important concern for us. When you visit our website, our web servers store by default the IP address of your internet service provider, the website from which you visit us, the pages you visit on our website, and the date and duration of your visit. This information is strictly necessary for the technical delivery of the website and for secure server operation. This data is not analysed on a personal basis.

If you send us data via the contact form, this data is stored on our servers as part of data backup. We use your data exclusively to process your request. Your data is treated in strict confidence. It is not passed on to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data is data about you as a person. This includes your name, your address and your email address. You do not have to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases we need your name and address as well as further information in order to provide the service you have requested.

The same applies if we send you information material at your request or when we answer your enquiries. In these cases we will always inform you of this. Furthermore, we only store the data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we generally only collect the data necessary to provide that service. We may ask you for further information, but providing it is voluntary. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to provide our service to you or to pursue our commercial objectives.

Contacting us

When you contact us (e.g. via the contact form, by email, by phone or via social media), the details of the enquiring person are processed insofar as this is necessary to answer the contact enquiry and any measures requested.

Contact enquiries within the scope of contractual or pre-contractual relationships are answered in order to fulfil our contractual obligations or to respond to (pre-)contractual enquiries, and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering the enquiries.

Types of data processed: master data (e.g. names, addresses), contact data (e.g. email, telephone numbers), content data (e.g. entries in online forms).

Data subjects: communication partners.

Purposes of processing: contact enquiries and communication.

Legal bases: performance of a contract and pre-contractual enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Automatically stored data

Server log files

The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are:

– date and time of the request

– name of the requested file

– page from which the file was requested

– access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)

– web browser and operating system used

– full IP address of the requesting computer

– amount of data transferred

This data is not merged with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to defend against attempted attacks on our web server, we store this data for a short period. We are unable to draw conclusions about individual persons from this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymised by shortening the IP address to domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a link to the individual user. In anonymised form, the data is also processed for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other data sets or passed on to third parties, not even in extracts.

Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking or statistics tools and other technologies into our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It only serves to manage and deliver the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager does record your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google's parent company in the United States.

Google Tag Manager is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the quick and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on its website. If consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information on the user's device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used and the origin of the user. This data is assigned to the respective end device of the user. It is not assigned to a device ID.

Furthermore, Google Analytics allows us to record, among other things, your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies in data analysis.

Google Analytics uses technologies that make it possible to recognise the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. Data transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/sccs/ .

We use Google Signals. When you visit our website, Google Analytics records, among other things, your location, search history and YouTube history as well as demographic data (visitor data). This data can be used for personalised advertising with the help of Google Signals. If you have a Google account, the visitor data from Google Signals is linked to your Google account and used for personalised advertising messages. The data is also used to create anonymised statistics on the behaviour of our users.

We have concluded a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

This website uses the "e-commerce measurement" function of Google Analytics. With the help of e-commerce measurement, the website operator can analyse the purchasing behaviour of website visitors in order to improve its online marketing campaigns. Information such as orders placed, average order values, shipping costs and the time from viewing to purchasing a product is recorded. This data can be combined by Google under a transaction ID, which is assigned to the respective user or their device.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising programme of Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed on the basis of user data available to Google (e.g. location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

This service is used on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. Data transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission.

Leadinfo B2B tracking

On this website, data is collected and stored for marketing purposes and to identify corporate prospects using technologies of Leadinfo B.V., Rivium Quadrant 141, 2909 LC Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands (www.leadinfo.com). On the basis of this data, the Leadinfo technology carries out an address identification in order to identify business customers who have visited our website.

The Leadinfo technology may receive further characteristics of the visit, such as movement data, and uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer.

This technology is used and cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, i.e. your consent, which we request in the cookie banner. You can also withdraw your consent there at any time.

Webmetic

With your consent, we use the Webmetic service on this website. The provider is Webmetic GmbH, Grünwalder Weg 32, 82041 Oberhaching, Germany (www.webmetic.de). Webmetic uses the IP address to determine which company is visiting our website and analyses how our website is used. For this purpose, the visit is recorded, including mouse movements, clicks and scrolling.

Webmetic is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, i.e. your consent, which we request in the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Without your consent, Webmetic is not loaded.

Umami (audience measurement without cookies)

We use Umami for the statistical analysis of the use of this website. We operate Umami ourselves on our server in Germany; no data is transferred to third parties. The following is recorded: pages viewed, the referring website, campaign parameters (utm), browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, a country derived from the IP address, and interactions with the website, such as clicks on telephone and email links, downloads of data sheets, opening FAQ questions, scroll depth and the progress through the enquiry form. No texts, names or contact details from your form entries are recorded, only rough classifications: the material group requested (e.g. "EPDM"), the quantity range (e.g. "1,000–9,999"), the preferred type of contact, the number of attached files and whether a telephone number was provided. Page loading times (Core Web Vitals) are measured technically.

Umami does not set cookies and does not store anything on your device. Your IP address is not stored; to distinguish between visits, a hash value is generated from the IP address and browser identifier which changes daily, so that you cannot be recognised over several days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our services (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you have activated "Do Not Track" in your browser, no data is recorded.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier of the cookie. It consists of a character string by means of which websites and servers can be assigned to the specific internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This enables the websites and servers visited to distinguish the individual browser of the data subject from other internet browsers that contain other cookies. A specific internet browser can be recognised and identified via the unique cookie ID.

By using session cookies, the controller can provide users of this website with a user-friendly service that would not be possible without setting cookies. Without consent, we only use technically necessary cookies on the legal basis of legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

wlw – Visable GmbH tracking pixel

For analysis and marketing purposes, we use products and services provided by Visable GmbH (www.visable.com) in cooperation with it. For this purpose, data is collected, processed and stored by means of tracking pixel technology in order to create usage profiles that are at least pseudonymised and, where possible and appropriate, fully anonymised. The collected data, which may initially still contain personal data, is transmitted to Visable or collected directly by Visable and used there to create the above-mentioned usage profiles. Visitors to this website are not personally identified, and no other personal data is merged with the usage profiles. Should IP addresses be identified as personal, they are deleted immediately. You can object to the forms of processing described here at any time with effect for the future.

YouTube with enhanced privacy

This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the enhanced privacy mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. For example, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video.

As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, after a video has been started, YouTube may store various cookies on your device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent attempted fraud.

Further data processing operations may be triggered after a YouTube video has been started, over which we have no control.

YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in its privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en .

Google Maps

This site uses the map service Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer. When Google Maps is activated, Google may use Google Web Fonts for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up Google Maps, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

Google Maps is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers and to make the locations we indicate on the website easy to find. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Data transfer to the USA is based on the Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here:

https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/ and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/sccs/ .

More information on how user data is handled can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en .

You can object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes at any time without giving reasons.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that we are violating German or European data protection law when processing your data, please contact us so that we can clarify any questions. You also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you, i.e. the respective state data protection authority.
